- Accessible Websites to WCAG 2.1 Level AA
Accessibility you can check, not just claim
Beeglantee builds and fixes websites so they meet WCAG 2.1 level AA, then hands over the test results. The work combines automated audits with Lighthouse and axe, keyboard only navigation, a screen reader pass and colour contrast measured against the real rendered background, not against the colour that was planned in a design file.
- Built and tested to WCAG 2.1 level AA, with the test results handed over to you
- Four kinds of checking: automated audits, keyboard only navigation, a screen reader pass and measured colour contrast
- Honest scope: we give technical findings, we do not sign legal conformance statements
Lighthouse accessibility score on our own site before the fixes

Fixes that produced that change
Lowest contrast measured for the corrected brand red
What happens when you neglect your website?
These are the problems we see every week with new clients.
Your audit score looks fine but the site is not usable
An automated tool cannot tell you whether a person can reach your checkout with a keyboard alone or hear a button announced correctly. We run the automated pass and then test by keyboard and with a screen reader.
Brand colours fail at small sizes
Our own brand red measured 4.03 to 4.24 against the dark backgrounds, below the 4.5 that AA requires for small text. A slightly lighter shade of the same hue now measures 4.56 to 4.80, so the brand stayed recognisable and the text passed.
Controls that say one thing and announce another
Icon links with no accessible name and a search button whose aria-label did not match its visible text were two of the five problems on our own site. These are invisible on screen and obvious to a screen reader user.
You are not sure where the legal line sits
The German Barrierefreiheitsstaerkungsgesetz (BFSG) has applied since June 2025 and covers consumer facing online services such as online shops, banking, transport and telecoms. We tell you what the technical findings are and leave the legal reading to your lawyer.
A complete solution for your business
Build and remediation to WCAG 2.1 level AA
We either build the site to WCAG 2.1 level AA from the start or fix an existing site until it meets the same bar.
Automated audits with Lighthouse and axe
Two automated tools catch the machine detectable issues first, so the manual time goes to the problems tools cannot see.
Keyboard only navigation testing
We work through the site without a mouse to confirm that every control can be reached, operated and left again.
Screen reader pass
We listen to the pages to check that names, labels and states are announced in a way that matches what is on screen.
Contrast measured on the rendered page
Colour contrast is measured against the real rendered background, which is how we found text at 60 percent opacity sitting at 3.11.
Test results handed over
You receive the findings from the automated, keyboard, screen reader and contrast checks, so you hold the evidence of what was tested and what changed.
What collaboration looks like step by step
Every project follows a proven methodology that guarantees results
1. Look at the site
We review your site to see how much is involved, then quote the work as a fixed project price.
2. Automated pass
We run Lighthouse and axe across the pages and templates to collect the machine detectable issues and a starting score.
3. Manual testing
We navigate by keyboard only, run a screen reader pass and measure colour contrast against the real rendered backgrounds.
4. Fix and retest
We implement the fixes, from accessible names to colour values, and run the checks again. On our own site that cycle moved the Lighthouse accessibility score from 88 to 98 after five fixes.
5. Hand over the results
You get the test results and the list of what was changed, which you or your lawyer can use for your own legal assessment.

Frequently Asked Questions
Our accessibility work gives you technical findings against WCAG 2.1 level AA, not a legal conformance statement. We build and test the site, we hand over the results of the automated, keyboard, screen reader and contrast checks, and that is where our scope ends. Whether those findings satisfy a legal obligation that applies to you is a question for your own lawyer. We do not certify BFSG compliance.
An accessibility statement is a legal document, and we do not write it and do not sign it. We give you the technical test results so that you and your lawyer have something concrete to base the statement on.
The German Barrierefreiheitsstaerkungsgesetz (BFSG) has applied since June 2025 and covers consumer facing online services such as online shops, banking, transport and telecoms. Whether it applies to your particular service, and what that means for you, is a legal assessment we do not make.
We run four kinds of check: automated audits with Lighthouse and axe, keyboard only navigation, a screen reader pass, and colour contrast measured against the real rendered background. The automated tools find the machine detectable problems and the manual passes find the rest.
There is no published price for this service. The work is quoted as a fixed project price after we have had a look at your site, because the amount of remediation depends entirely on what is already there.
Accessibility work can change small parts of your visual design, usually colour values rather than layout. On our own site the brand red measured 4.03 to 4.24 against the dark backgrounds, below the 4.5 that AA requires, so we moved to a slightly lighter shade of the same hue that measures 4.56 to 4.80. The brand stayed recognisable and the text passed.
The problems we find are often small controls and colour choices rather than big structural faults. The five fixes on our own site were icon links with no accessible name, a search button whose aria-label did not match its visible text, a dark colour on a dark background, a link distinguished only by colour, and text at 60 percent opacity that dropped contrast to 3.11.
Beeglantee is a digital studio in Ruma, Serbia, founded in 2012. We work in Serbian, English and German, so the testing notes and the handover can be in the language your team uses.
