Fruška Gora Weekend Cabin
How we did it.
A cabin on the hillside of Fruška Gora, on a 1,500m² plot with views of the Danube. The clients, a Belgrade family, wanted a traditional mountain cabin in timber with modern utilities.
RC strip foundation (due to unstable ground), walls of laminated spruce 145mm with an interior cladding in the same timber and an exterior oak cladding. Timber roof structure clad with Mediterranean tiles.
Wood-fired central heating (Centrometal CM Pelet 25 boiler) with radiators in all rooms. Solar panels on the roof for domestic hot water. Own borehole 60m with pump. 6m³ septic tank. The cabin was completed in 5 months and is liveable in all four seasons.
