[ Due diligence, answered plainly ]

Everything your legal, finance and procurement people will ask before they approve a studio outside the EU, written down in one place.

Beeglantee is a digital studio in Ruma, Serbia, which means we sit outside the European Union and the EEA, and any serious EU buyer has to account for that. This page explains how personal data transfers run on standard contractual clauses, how a Serbian invoice works for an EU business under reverse charge, and who owns the code, the repositories and the hosting accounts at the end. Confirm the tax treatment with your own accountant before you book anything.

What happens when you neglect your website?

These are the problems we see every week with new clients.

The vendor is outside the EU and nobody wants to sign off

Serbia is not in the European Union or the EEA, so a transfer of personal data out of the EU needs a legal basis rather than a promise. If a supplier cannot name that basis, your data protection officer is right to stop the process.

An invoice arrives and finance does not know what to do with it

A Serbian invoice to an EU business carries no Serbian VAT, which surprises people who expect a VAT line. Your own reverse charge rules apply instead, and your accountant has to confirm how it is booked in your country.

The agency keeps the keys after the project ends

Plenty of studios register the hosting, the repository and the analytics property in their own name and treat that as retention. It turns a finished project into a dependency you have to buy your way out of.

Nobody wrote down what happens if you leave

Exit is the part of a contract that is easiest to skip and most expensive to miss. We would rather agree the handover terms while everyone is still happy.

[ What you get ]

A complete solution for your business

Standard contractual clauses for personal data

Because Serbia sits outside the EU and the EEA, transfers of personal data from an EU client run on standard contractual clauses attached to the agreement. The clauses are part of the contract, not a separate conversation we have later.

Serbia's own data protection law

Serbia has a personal data protection law of its own, built on the GDPR model. That means the obligations we work under at home are recognisable to a European counterparty rather than foreign to it.

Fixed project price in euros

Work is quoted as a fixed project price in euros, so the number in the contract is the number on the invoice. We do not publish an hourly rate and we do not bill by the hour, which removes the usual argument about time sheets.

Invoicing without Serbian VAT

An invoice from us to an EU business carries no Serbian VAT, and you account for VAT under your own reverse charge rules. Confirm with your accountant how that is treated in your jurisdiction before you sign.

Code and accounts in your name

You own the code and the accounts. Repositories, hosting on Vercel, the Supabase project and analytics are handed over to you, and we are happy to put that in writing before the first line of code is written.

Same working day as the EU

Serbia runs on CET in winter and CEST in summer, the same working day as Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the Netherlands, France, Italy and Scandinavia. Contract questions get answered inside your business hours, not overnight.

What collaboration looks like step by step

Every project follows a proven methodology that guarantees results

01
01

Scope and fixed price

We agree what is being built and what it costs, in euros, as a fixed project price. Published ranges are 350 to 2800 EUR for websites, 600 to 4500 EUR for online stores and 250 to 1500 EUR for branding.

02
02

Data mapping

We identify whether the project touches personal data of people in the EU, and if so, which data and for what purpose. If no personal data leaves the EU, the paperwork is shorter and we say so.

03
03

Contract and clauses

The agreement is issued with standard contractual clauses attached where personal data transfers are involved. Serbian, English and German are all workable contract languages for us.

04
04

Accounts in your name from day one

Vercel, Supabase, the repository and the analytics property are set up under your ownership where possible, with access granted to us. That makes handover an administrative step instead of a migration.

05
05

Invoice and VAT check

We invoice without Serbian VAT and you apply your reverse charge rules. Send the first invoice to your accountant before the second one arrives so the booking is settled early.

06
06

Handover and exit

At the end we transfer any remaining access, confirm the repository and hosting are yours, and document where everything lives. Ongoing marketing, if you want it, runs at 250 to 350 EUR per month with no lock-in contract.

Frequently Asked Questions

Serbia is outside the European Union and the EEA, so a transfer of personal data from an EU client to us is a transfer to a third country. That is why we work with standard contractual clauses rather than relying on EU membership. Serbia does have its own personal data protection law, which follows the GDPR model.

Yes, we sign a data processing agreement with standard contractual clauses attached where personal data moves from the EU to us. We treat it as part of the project contract, not an optional annex. If your legal team has its own preferred template, send it over and we will work from that.

An invoice from us to an EU business carries no Serbian VAT. You account for VAT under your own reverse charge rules, which vary by member state. Please confirm the exact treatment with your own accountant, because we cannot give tax advice for your country.

We invoice in euros at a fixed project price agreed before work starts. There is no published hourly rate and no hourly billing, so scope changes are handled as a new agreed number rather than extra hours. Prices are final, with no hidden costs.

You own the code and the accounts. The repository, the Vercel hosting, the Supabase project and the analytics are handed over to you at the end, and we set them up in your name from the start where the platform allows it. Nothing stays behind as leverage.

Yes, we are comfortable signing on your paper if the terms are workable for a studio of our size. We read what we sign and we will flag anything we cannot meet rather than agree and hope. Contracts in Serbian, English and German are all fine.

If your procurement policy forbids processing personal data outside the EU and the EEA on principle, an EU based supplier is the better fit and no clause we sign will change that. The same applies if you need a vendor with an EU legal entity for internal audit reasons. We would rather tell you now than three weeks into a review.

Serbia runs on CET in winter and CEST in summer, the same working day as Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the Netherlands, France, Italy and Scandinavia. There is no overlap problem with EU clients at all. For the United States East Coast the overlap is roughly three hours, since 15:00 in Serbia is 09:00 in New York.
